Readers of Two Cities is entering a New Chapter. So, what does that mean?

When I first came up with podcast idea, it was originally called The 3Bs Podcast. Books, BLs, Business. But then I asked Sam to join me and after workshopping it, we settled on Readers of Two Cities, by narrowing it down to the ONE thing we both were extremely passionate about. Readers of Two Cities is still about honest conversations, different perspectives, and the stories that keep us thinking long after we close the book.

The podcast isn’t going anywhere. Actually, it’s expanding. A new chapter means a new co-host. I’m excited to share that my sister will be joining me. And in fashion of the title, we actually are in two different cities.

Having my sister changes the dynamic. We read very similar books but also have ones we wouldn’t touch from the other’s TBR. It’ll be new perspectives, new conversations, and inevitably, some disagreements about books. And honestly, that’s exactly what I want. The best book conversations aren’t always the ones where everyone agrees.

What does this mean about my co-host Sam? Unfortunately, life happened. She got extremely busy and had to make the ultimate sacrifice which was walking away from this podcast. We’re still friends, we still talk books, but we just won’t be on a platform like this. Could this change and she come back? We don’t know. But if she’s got time, I’d love to have her back! The door is always open.

Speaking of expanding…

I’m opening the door for more author conversations. I’m looking for authors across ALL genres to join me on the podcast. I want to go beyond the “tell me about your book” interview and talk about your writing, characters, inspiration, craft, and all the weird rabbit holes that come with creating stories. And something new is brewing. The Great Bookish Quest is an interactive bookish event bringing readers and authors together through different literary “realms,” including romance, fantasy, thriller/horror, and more. I’m currently looking for authors, bookstores, and potential partners as I start putting the pieces together. Which brings me to ROTCP dispatch.

I created this newsletter to be more personal than the podcast. You’ll find new episodes, author spotlights, book recommendations, bookish rabbit holes, event updates, and so much more. Basically, all the book updates that don’t always fit into a podcast episode.

The podcast may look a little different these days, but the reason I’m doing this hasn’t changed: I love books, I love talking about them, and I want to create a place where readers, authors, and book lovers can connect.
